Hello I am Julie Sampson; I am the Barking Mad franchisee for the Bristol Postcodes North of the river Avon. I first knew about Barking Mad three years ago when my husband Clive and I owned a Bed and Breakfast in Bath. It was a rare occasion and we were about to go on holiday but needed to make provision for our dog ‘Robbie’. I wanted to ensure that I found a caring environment for him, and the prospect of using kennels didn’t appeal to us. When seeking alternatives we found the services offered by Barking Mad and it was just what we wanted.
Our baby ‘Robbie’ was so well cared for with his host family Debbie & Paul, that upon his return it was obvious that he had just as good a
time as us. Shortly afterwards, and after 10 years of running the B & B, we wanted a change . So we began to look at other business opportunities. We were thrilled to discover that a Barking Mad franchise was available in our area and this appealed to me as a satisfied customer.
In addition to running the business we have an extensive family; grown up children, three grandchildren, and their dogs, Tess and Louie Staffie Crosses and Bobby and Sam the Border Collies. Our house always seemed to be full with the children and dogs, and Barking Mad seemed to be very appropriate.
In between all of the above I try and fit in my hobbies which include Japanese embroidery, patchwork quilting, and sporting pastimes such as tennis, skiing and swimming, with the regular visit to the gym, and of course walking Robbie twice a day.
If you are interested in becoming a Barking Mad host or would like to use the excellent service we provide for your dog then please do not
hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tess had a wonderful time and came home so relaxed and happy. I didn’t have to worry about anything, she was collected on time and brought back on time. Her photos and postcards were super and it was such a reassurance knowing she was well looked after, will definitely use Barking mad again

Due to Louies’ age 13, and his slowness, kennels were just not an option. Barking Mad, took control and found a wonderful host family, who really cared for him whilst we were away, and took note of his pet schedule. It was great to go away and relax knowing that Bobby was in good hands
