July 2017
July was a very busy month for Barking Mad Tendring and Colchester with a combination of new customers and existing ones all starting their summer get away.

It is always lovely to welcome new customers on their first holiday and a wonderful feeling when they return home and their owners are so pleased with how happy and content they are. It is especially lovely when customers take the time to give us a 5* review on Trust Pilot such as the one below:

Mazy July 2017.png

"I hated leaving my dog in kennels and then I read about barking mad. my cocker spaniel is very lively and barking mad found the perfect place for her to go on holiday it's home from home. She always comes home so happy and I love it that I get texts and pictures of her while I'm away it puts my mind at rest. yes it adds money onto your holiday but you can go away with the peace of mind that your dog is happy and safe. I would definitely recommend barking mad and I'm really fussy. Claire."

We have also welcomed some new host families to our growing community and they are looking forward to having their first furry visitor to stay over the summer months.

If you would like to have a furry friend to come and stay with you please give me a call on 075064522212 we can have an informal chat with no obligation to register.

Tracey, Barking Mad Sudbury, and myself joined forces and attended an open day for a local animal rescue. We put the gazebo up in the rain but thankfully it stopped by the time the visitors started to arrive and we had a lovely day in sunshine with Tracy entering her Flo in a couple of the fun dog shows and winning two rosettes, well done Tracy and Flo.

June 2017

June has been a busy month, we have had a wonderful time welcoming lots of wonderful dogs on their Barking Mad holidays. We have also been lucky enough to welcome new hosts to our community of families who love to have doggies to stay for their holiday and they are already enjoying the benefits of this wonderful hobby.

New host Carroll said ‘this is wonderful, we have already met some wonderful dogs and it gives us the chance to get to know all different dogs, big, small, young and old, the whole family are having a great time and fully embracing this, we just wish we had known about it before’

I have had an eventful month which did include getting stranded on Mersea Island because the tide came in and I had to wait for an hour before I could return to Colchester, this was actually quite a nice experience in the end as I went and had a walk around the town and of course delivered some leaflets to local houses and coffee shops.

Here are some gorgeous photos of some of our wonderful Barking Mad holiday makers having fun. If you would like to have a lovely dog like this come and stay with you for their holiday pleases give me a call on 07506452212 and I will happily come along and have a chat with you.

 Brompton Fountain logo.jpg

On Saturday 4th February Julie put her posh frock on to attend a charity ball in aid of the Brompton fountain. The Brompton Fountain is a charity that supports parents of children being treated at the Brompton Hospital.

Julie has supported this charity for 6 years ever since they operated on her grandson when he was only 4 months old. Barking Mad were one of the many sponsors at this event.

Everyone had an amazing night and a grand total of £3060.00 was raised to help this wonderful charity.

What Is Yellow Dog UK™?

The Yellow Dog Project was created to bring awareness to dogs who need space while training, recovering from surgery, or being rehabilitated.

Yellow Dog - Some dogs need space

If you see a dog with a YELLOW ribbon, bandanna or similar on the leash or on the dog, this is a dog which needs some space. Please, do not approach this dog or its people with your dog. They are indicating that their dog cannot be close to other dogs. How close is too close? Only the dog or his people know, so maintain distance and give them time to move out of your way.
