Fife Dog Sitter hosts a walk in memory of doggies

Memory Tags for the Tree of Remembrance

Memory Tags for the Tree of Remembrance

To celebrate Dog Remembrance Month we hosted a walk along at Leven Beach and were joined by over 50 doggies. It was lovely to meet friends old and new but what was extra special was the effort people made to come and leave a memory tag on the Tree of Remembrance. One lady in Kirkcaldy couldn’t make it on public transport as her doggie is petrified of buses but fortunately we had offers from one of our customers in Torryburn as well as our friendly dog walker in Kelty to pick her up so she still made the day. We also raised another £98.75 for Dogs for Good which was fantastic.

Come and join our doggies for our next Canine Capers & Cakes Walk on 2nd September 2018. We meet at the caravan park end of Leven Beach at 11am and all friendly doggies are welcome – even if you don’t have a doggie you’re more than welcome to join us. This walk is extra special as it also marks Dog Remembrance Month paying tribute to our beloved four legged furbies who have now passed over the Rainbow Bridge. We’ll be joined by doggies from Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and all places in between as this is truly a Fife event. After the walk there’s the chance to have a cuppa, cake and a chinwag – hope to see you there.

August 2018 – Fundraising for our four legged friends

We had a great day at this years Bark in the Park at Lochore Meadows and it was lovely to see customers coming from across the region – from wee Millie from Thorton, to the mad duo known as Beau & Luke from Torryburn and the big fella himself, Harry from Leslie – all has a fabulous day. Even better was that we managed to raise £200 for Second Chance Kennels with our Barking Mad Craft Club tombola – thanks to all the lovely ladies for their continued support.

Our Dogs For Good Puppy Partnership is Life Transforming

Barking Mad dog sitters proudly sponsor Dogs for Good puppy Prince

We are so proud of Prince, our doggy superhero in training!

This October has been renamed ‘Dogtober’ as we celebrate a successful ‘puppy partnership’ with inspirational charity Dogs for Good. Our local branches will be holding events throughout the UK such as: chatty coffee mornings, dog walks and ‘pupcake’ sales and they are eager to invite everyone to get involved.

We initiated an official partnership with Dogs for Good at the beginning of 2018, with fundraising beginning in earnest. The charity, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, trains dogs to help children and adults with all sorts of challenges, including autism, physical disabilities, special educational needs and dementia.

By May of this year, after incredible support from Barking Mad’s dog sitting hosts, customers and friends, enough money had been raised to sponsor Prince, a yellow Labrador assistance dog in training. The money raised through our dog sitting community’s efforts, which have included coffee mornings, quizzes and making toy puppies out of face cloths to sell, is currently supporting Prince through his first year with puppy socialiser Neil. We are delighted to let everyone know that he is making amazing progress into a life-changing dog.

Siesta Doggy Holidays

Over the last four weeks in the middle of our scorching summer, here at Barking Mad Nottingham we have been very busy arranging lots of dog boarding holidays.  Thank goodness to the aircon in my Barking Mad car!  I’ve been able to keep it cool whilst transporting our four-legged holiday makers to their destinations.  Our five-star pet sitting service starts from the second we pick them up. Our holidaying dogs have had a few changes to their routines, by being walked first thing in a morning and last thing at night to avoid the heat.  During the hottest part of the day they have been taking a Siesta inside whilst being cooled by a fan.  It’s a dog’s life! But, why not? They are on holiday too and it’s what I like to do on holiday! Don’t you?

Barking Mad Norfolk Dog sitting news –  August Events

The Wroxham & Hoveton Lions Club held a summer fete on 5th August at the Hoveton village hall. I had a stand at this event for people to get more information on our professional, local dog sitting service. This was a fun filled event with live entertainment and many stands offering a variety of services and products. The highlight of the fete was the vintage cars that drew a large crowd and the dog agility event. This saw dogs of all different breeds showing their speed and skills. It was lots of fun for both the dogs and the owners.
