Congratulations to our ‘Manchester’s cutest pooch’ winner George, an 8-month-old Golden Retriever! It was a pleasure to meet him and his lovely family and drop off all the treats!
There has been a lot going on at Barking Mad Manchester over the past month, including a great day out to Heaton Park in support of Paws for St. Ann’s Hospice.
Trick or Treat…. Give me something good to eat!We haven’t quite forgotten what month it is, It’s nearly Halloween!! If you’re going away and have forgotten to book your dog in with us, don’t fret there is still space! Just get in touch at email@example.com
It’s a Dog-eat-dog world!
It’s appears that everywhere we look right now there is a dog show calling out our name! Have you had the opportunity this month to enter your pooch into ‘Prettiest Bitch’, ‘Handsomest Dog’ or ‘Waggiest tail’ competition? Well if you have, the probability is that we have been there to witness it.
One of the most popular events we visited was the Dog Show and Family Fun Day at Barton Aerodrome! There was something for everyone, including for pups that had a taste for Bacon Flavoured Bubbles- No, we had never heard of them before either!
Considering all the friendly competition in the air, we decided to run our own Facebook challenge to find the cutest furry friend in the Manchester area. The Winner is to be announced Friday 22nd September at 6pm so get your entries in quickly!
For details to enter visit @BarkingMadManchester on Facebook.
Summer Holidays are upon us!
Here at Barking Mad Manchester we have been busy, busy, busy. The holiday period is here and we are experiencing a massive increase in dog holidays and bookings. Here are some pictures of our holiday.

You may have noticed I have recently updated my website photograph, that is because this month myself and Rolo had the pleasure of meeting Gavin from Venture Photography! We had a fun-filled day and both left grinning from ear to ear. I was most impressed at the patience Gavin displayed getting Rolo to sit still for the camera!
If you’re interested in getting some family photos of you and your pooch then you can find Gavin and his team at www.venturephotography.com/your-studio/stockport/ or on Facebook @venturestockport.
To show appreciation for our customers we will also be giving away Venture Photography vouchers worth £245.00 too any customers that book a barking mad holiday for one week or more before September 30th, 2017. This voucher entitles you too:
• One hour in the Stockport studio with one of their award-winning photographers.
• A tailor-made viewing- view the best of your images, selected and designed personally by your photographer.

So get your booking in quickly, whilst stock lasts!
What an eventful few months we have had in Manchester!
New Brand Logo unveiled
We are delighted with our new re-branding which has a more contemporary and colourful look than our previous one. Our cars are in the process of being re-liveried and I am delighted with our more vibrant uniform. We still offer the same great Barking Mad service and we hope you like the new logo too!
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Pluto our very handsome Rottweiler. It was a shock for the whole family but the right decision for our boy as he was in a lot of pain. We all miss him terribly, a big hole in our daily lives.
Barking Mad have now got a Group Facebook page which is for people like me who have lost their best friend, people are finding comfort with others by sharing their stories and getting support. This is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/DogBereavementRainbowBridgeRemembrance/
Happy New Year to you all!
Now that Christmas is long forgotten and you are thinking of lying in the sun don’t forget to book your dog in for their holiday especially if you have a favourite host as we do get booked up early especially for the summer months.
Here at Barking Mad Manchester we had a great festive season with lots of dogs enjoying the comforts of a home from home Christmas and New Year’s Day. I want to thank all my hosts for giving your precious pets a great holiday experience and of course TURKEY !! Here are a few dogs getting into the Christmas spirit:

Barking Mad Manchester would like to wish all our customers, host families and friends, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We have had a busy year organising lots of very happy holidays for dogs, in the Manchester area and matching up lots of lovely dogs with our equally lovely host families. We have received many fantastic reviews and we would like to let you know that we really appreciate and value your feedback.
I am pleased to let you know that Joanne has joined the Barking Mad Manchester Team this month. This is her having a cuddle with Rolo, nobody can resist a puppy. Joanne has had dogs all through her life and at the moment has a Chihuahua cross Jack Russel called Eddy who is very cute and irresistible.
A lovely example of the friendship you make when you join our Barking Mad Host team.
Well it is not all about the dogs this month, as my dog mobile turned into a bird mobile for the afternoon. I was in touch with one of my long time host, Hilary and she asked me would I know of anyone that would like to rehome to Zebra Finches. Well as it happens I have another host Pat who loves birds, has a lovely aviary outside as well as a couple of beautiful cages inside and would love to rehome the Zebra Finches.
Here is a couple of pictures of the beautiful birds.
August and September 2016
What a fantastic summer of holiday bookings we have had and I would like to thank all my host families for all the great holidays that they have given to the dogs and of course all my regular customers that have now used Barking Mad Manchester twice or in some cases even more. We have all had so much fun, me, the hosts and the dogs. Here are a few pictures of some of the dogs that have been out this summer.

Barking Mad Re-Sale Opportunity
Do you know someone who would love to run a business working with dogs?
An opportunity to buy a well- established, home based, post-coded territory dog business, which covers the Manchester area is now being placed on the market. With a loyal customer base (bookings already in the diary for 2017) and a fantastic team of Host families this business is truly ready to be taken to the next level.
This business would suit anyone wishing to pursue a career working with dogs, but with the added support and benefits that a franchise and its network provides. The investment risk has been massively reduced as the territory is already successful, profitable and continues to grow.
Day to day roles include meeting new customers and their dogs, meeting new host families, admin, marketing as well as being out and about collecting and delivering dogs in and around Manchester!!!
Please contact me direct for further details Frankie Doig on 0161 798 9711 or email: email@example.com
The Dogs Trust held their annual event at Heaton Park on the 3rd July which was a great success. Barking Mad supplied a lovely cuddly dog toy for the 1st prize in the dog show on behalf of Dogs n Divas, doggy day care.
The north west team of Barking Mad met up this month to share best practice and chat about the business, it was a super day! The sun was shining which put everyone in a good mood, I know I learn so much from my colleagues and I am looking forward to the next one.
Mr Butch had his first holiday with Barking Mad this month, he has a lovely story to tell. His owner received a call from Manchester Dog home to see if she would be interested in rehoming him as she had previously fostered him 10 years previously. He had found a loving family then but unfortunately his owner had died. Good news is that he has come back to live with his foster mum!
We supported the Manchester Dogs Home at the Go Walkies event that took place on Sunday, 22nd June. The whole event managed to raise an amazing £880 on the day. We loved seeing everyone having a good time on the day and talking to lots of doggy people and meeting their fur babies.
What a great weekend at the Barking Mad conference, meeting up with all the franchisees and head office staff.
We had a full day of training, sharing best practices and came away knowing that we all love our jobs and the dogs we look after.
Meet Lulu our youngest ever Barking Mad Manchester holiday goer. She was only 17 weeks old on her first holiday and we all fell in love with her.
Making a dog Easter egg
Don’t be tempted to share your Easter eggs with your canine friend as chocolate is toxic to dogs. Follow our step by step guide to making your dog an Easter treat that is safe for him.
You will need;
Several packets of doggy choc drops
An Easter egg mould
Step 1: Place the chocolate drops into a heatproof bowl. Fill the saucepan with water and place the bowl on top. Warm the water gradually and stir the melting chocolate.
Step 2: Lightly grease the egg mould and spoon the melted chocolate evenly around it. Place the mould in the fridge.
Step 3: Once the two halves have set, fill one side with some of your dog’s favourite treats.
Step 4: Spread melted chocolate around the edge of one half of the egg and stick the second half in place.
Step 5: Once cool, trim away any rough edges and wrap the egg in cellophane and tie with a ribbon. You could also make an extra egg for a friend’s dog too.
REMEMBER! Dog-safe chocolate is a treat and should only be fed to your dog in small amounts at a time.
February the month of love!
Love was in the air this Valentine’s weekend with Barking Mad, you too could have a special four legged friend in your life by becoming one of our wonderful host families. Companionship, love and so much more.
Happy New Year from all at Barking Mad!
As usual the year has started off busy with lots of customers getting in touch to book their dogs in for their holidays. It’s always a good idea to get organised and book your dog in for their holiday when you are arranging yours. We do get booked up, especially at busy times and we don’t want to disappoint your dog. As we always say at Barking Mad….dogs deserve a holiday too.
The run up to Christmas has been very busy with lots of our wonderful Barking Mad dogs out for weekends and a few on holiday for Christmas. Here are a couple of pictures from Christmas day!
Barking Mad also announced the WINNER of our £5000 holiday draw, what a great Christmas present.
Please remember to take part in our fantastic competition what better way to end 2015 than winning £5000 to spend on the holiday of your choice in 2016. If you haven't entered yet then click here for your chance to win.

St Ann’s Hospice Paws Spooktacular was a spooky success!
On Halloween, over two-hundred owners and their canine friends dressed up in their scariest costumes to attend the event. Batman and Superman were the winners of the Best Dog Fancy Dress that was sponsored by Barking Mad. We all had a great day and everyone looked amazing in the costumes.
Barking Mad Bandana’s
We have been busy this month making our lovely bandana’s which we sold to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice at the Spooktacular event. Nigel and Shadow look very elegant modelling our bandanas.
Had a great day in Wythenshawe at the Garden City Festival! Met lots of fabulous people and drummed up a lot of interest in Barking Mad.
Even had a phone call from a potential host who left a message before I got home from the event!! I have now met Maureen and she has joined our wonderful host team and looking forward to having her first four legged visitor.
It was a very busy month this month, I had great fun picking up and returning all the dogs from happy customers and very happy host families. I thought it would be nice for you to see some of the fantastic dogs that were out on holiday with us.
