Our dog sitting service in Bolton and North West Manchester is blessed with the most fantastic doggy customers and our host families absolutely love having them to stay, whilst their owners are away! We really try our hardest to provide the very best dog home boarding experience that we possibly can and it is so rewarding when we receive feedback from our customers.
Here is just what one of our customers thought of Barking Mad...
Barking Mad is fantastic! I have used other companies before and been let down, but this one has gone above and beyond. Bella came back so happy and relaxed and she even had a postcard detailing her travels which I thought was a lovely touch. She was looked after so well and placed with the perfect host family! Thanks again!

WOW We have had so much fun this Summer! Your local Barking Mad service is growing and growing so many more dogs are having wonderful holidays. Why use kennels when you can have home-from-home boarding?Every year we find that more and more people approach Barking Mad when they have been let down, usually last minute by their dog carer. Why not take the stress out of booking future doggy holidays by registering and trialing your dog over the winter months..

Simple Homemade Dog Biscuits
Our homemade dog biscuits are such a hit with the dogs we wanted to share the recipe so you can make your own. They are really simple to make, don’t contain any nasty additives and you can even save yourself some money.
320gm Wholemeal Flour
100ml Hot Water
1 Stock cube Beef or Chicken
1. Mix the stock cube with 100ml of hot water and allow to cool.
2. Add the water to the wholemeal flour.
3. Lightly beat the egg and add to the mix.
4. Mix by hand and then knead the dough for roughly 4/5 minutes.
5. Roll out the dough to about 1cm thickness – Tip: If the dough is sticky place in fridge for a few minutes to cool. You can also roll between two sheets of greaseproof paper.
6. Cut out using a bone shaped cutter (available on eBay) and place on baking tray in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
Continuing on the sharing theme, we would like to recommend the following dog related businesses who we work with, take a minute to have a look.

This week we have had our annual Christmas Party. I love to do this as it gives me a chance to thank my amazing hosts for looking after all their doggy visitors all year round.
There was a great atmosphere in the room as all hosts chatted to each other and compared dog stories. We had so much fun and even managed to squeeze in a game of Bingo! Hosts left the party with a little goody bag filled with a few different treats and our annual Barking Mad calendar and newsletter.
The start of autumn and October activities have seen our team frighteningly busy!!
Half term holidays saw lots of our customers off on their holidays, which meant we got to see many of our favourite regulars and lots of new doggies.
Who remembers Olly and Max our double trouble Dalmatians?? Well now there’s triple trouble. Meet Rosie the new addition to the Morgan family.
And just look at Daisy enjoying her holidays in our beautiful countryside, and big boy Harley chilling as ever!!
Thank you to everyone who sent in their Halloween scary dog drawings for our competition. It was so nice to see all your entries. Here is our winner’s entry, from Ella aged 9.
Talking of competitions, we are launching a Christmas competition, #dogselfie.
We want to see photos of you and your dog selfie style. For more details and daily updates please like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BarkingMadDogCareSouthBoltonNorthWestManchester/

Would you enjoy a dog for company?
If you love dogs but feel you cannot make the commitment to own one, why not become a host for us?
We are constantly seeking new host families to cope with the increasing business.
We've taken on lots of new fabulous hosts this Summer and they have loved every minute of it!
You look after dogs at a time that suits you and your lifestyle, as long as you have time available we would love to hear from you. Our hosts are generally retired people, families, people working from home and anyone who is longing for companionship with a dog.
We would not be able to provide our Barking Mad service without such fantastic hosts, who care for their canine visitors as if they were their own. Hosts say their house feels empty when they don’t have a dog to care for and look forward to the next one arriving.
Every dog enjoys having a little holiday of their own!
Below are just a few of our hosts with their doggy guests on their holiday over the Summer.
We kicked off June in style at the fourth annual barking Berry's Fun Dog Show in aid of Rochdale Dog Rescue and Dogs Trust Merseyside on the 4th June 2016, at Central Park Westhoughton.
We sponsored ‘The Waggiest tale class and ‘The Best smile class’. There were so many amazing entries, how do the judges choose?
What a fantastic day we had. The sun was shining, and smiles were the order of the day.
We met so many old and new customers and their owners as well!!! We didn’t want the day to end, and wished we could do it every weekend! Thank you to everyone who came over to say hello.
While you have all been enjoying the start of your summer holidays, we have the privilege of having your 4 legged best friends for their holidays with us. It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it!!!! We have so many photos, here are just a selection of Albert with Pam, Stanley with Anne and Harley with Jessica.

Your loyal friend is even collected and returned in our Barking Mad'' chauffeur driven limo!!!
We are the first and original 'Alternative to kennels', still here and going from strength to strength since 2000. Google us, and see what our customers have to say. Pictures speak for themselves, and so do their wiggly waggly tails!
Their fun packed holiday is first and foremost for us.
Whether you have a big boisterous clumsy puppy, or a shy quiet distinguished gentleman, we will perfectly match one of our host families to your dog’s needs, so it’s just like home from home, with perhaps a bit more fun added in.
ALL our hosts are DOG CRAZY, like we are, and whilst your dog is on holiday with them you can be assured they will be having probably a better holiday than you!!!
For your piece of mind we will text you updates, photos, and they will come home at the same time as you with a postcard telling you all about their holidays!!
Have you booked yet? You'd be Barking Mad not to!!!!
Disclaimer....please don't hold us responsible if your dog 'sulks' when he comes home. You are still and always will be their number 1!!!
They just love their 'Barking Mad' holiday!
Our team from Barking Mad Bolton recently attended our annual conference.Franchisees from the 75 branches of Barking Mad got together with staff from head office. This is always a special time of year when we enjoy meeting up with colleagues in the beautiful surroundings of The Lakeside on Lake Windermere.
It is a great opportunity for everyone to get together to discuss the events of the previous year and to plan for the coming 12 months
It is also a great social event and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues from elsewhere in the country, this year there were quite a few new faces which is great as the company continues to grow.
We have had a very busy spring here at Barking Mad Bolton, lots of our regulars have been out with us and in addition we have met so many new customers and their dogs.
As a result Gail has now joined our team. Gail is one of our loving hosts, and when the opportunity came up we immediately thought she would fill the role perfectly. So you can expect to meet her soon when she collects your dog for a doggy holiday with us.
Gail is Passionate about all animals, especially horses and dogs having been brought up around them most of her life. She love’s the great outdoors especially walking and riding her horse Sid.
Here’s Gail with one of our new customer’s, the very gorgeous ‘Bowie’.

Thank you to all my loyal customers who keep on booking holidays and keep on telling their friends and family about Barking Mad dog holidays.
I couldn’t run my business without my fantastic host families, who do such a great job of welcoming dogs into their homes. They love and care for your dogs and treat them as part of their family. Once a year, we all get together so that I can tell them how much I appreciate their hard work, and introduce them to each other. They really enjoy getting to know new people and swapping their doggy stories They all go home with a present to put under the tree for Christmas morning with a Barking Mad calender. They’ll need this to write down all of their dog visitors. 2016 already looks to be a busy year, so I’m sure my hosts will be booked up all year. We are hoping to all get together at the end of November.
I also asked all of my hosts to spread the word, as I really would love more hosts. My hosts are typically retired or stay at home mums, who have had dogs before and understand the responsibility of caring for a dog. They are “Barking Mad” about dogs!
