September Dog Sitting Host Spotlight

Introducing Danielle, one of our amazing hosts…

Barking Mad dog sitting offers the chance to look after dogs who are on holiday

Danielle loves caring for Barking Mad holiday dogs!

At Barking Mad Dog Care, we are simply in awe of the amazing dog loving individuals who make up our Host Community. Becoming a Barking Mad host and caring for dogs whose owners are away, can be the perfect alternative to full time pet ownership. Our hosts are all real dog lovers but feel unable to commit to the emotional and financial implications of owning an animal at this time in their lives. They missed companionship, cuddles and walks and have found that the lovely dogs who holiday with Barking Mad are only too happy to oblige!

We have introduced a monthly ‘Host Spotlight’ to sing the praises of the wonderful people who are our dog sitting heroes. This August we would like to introduce Danielle Groom, from Skelmersdale. We caught up with her local branch owners, Sam and Lee Evans of Barking Mad Wigan, St. Helens and N. Warrington, who were only too happy to take part in a quick Q&A session…

Q. How long has Danielle been a host for?

A. Danielle has hosted for us here at Barking Mad Wigan, St. Helens and N. Warrington           for approximately eighteen months. However, she was also a host for Barking Mad in           Milton Keynes previously.

Q. Why is Danielle such a fantastic host?

A.  She’s an absolutely fantastic host because she loves to welcome all dogs, regardless of shape or size. She is very keen and enthusiastic about hosting and helps to spread the word about Barking Mad by distributing leaflets in her neighbourhood, local parks and her daughter’s school. She is always the first one to volunteer for events and is just a real gem!

Q. Is there an occasion when Danielle has really gone above and beyond the call of duty?

A. There isn’t just one occasion, Danielle will always do her utmost to make her doggy visitors welcome and to help at short notice. She talks about Barking Mad to everyone and shows her support at events and host community gatherings also.

Q. Why do you think that Danielle hosts for you and what do you think it means to her?

A. Danielle absolutely loves dogs and she also wanted her daughter to experience the benefits of having a friendly dog in the home. Having dogs around has helped her to remain focused, calm and gives her a sense of responsibility, which she loves. Danielle is very grateful for the opportunity to have lovely dogs to stay in their home.

Jessie and Snowbelle who joined Barking Mad this Summer

Jessie and Snowbelle who joined Barking Mad this Summer

We were delighted to welcome Jessie and her dog Snowbelle as new customers this Summer.  Jessie and her family recently relocated from the USA and were thrilled to find Barking Mad.  They wanted to ensure Snowbelle would be happy while they were away and really didn’t think kennels would suit her.  We matched Snowbelle up with host Elsie and she had a brilliant holiday while Jessie and the family were away on theirs.  Read more

Barking Mad Wigan September news 2018

What a summer!

What an amazing and super busy Summer we’ve had here at Barking Mad Wigan! Our doggy summer holidays start as early as May, when our customers want to get away on holiday before the hustle and bustle starts of the school holidays and can run right through to the end of September.

During these months we’ve welcomed back dog guests who have stayed with our Barking Mad Wigan hosts before (and love them so much they have already booked for next year!) and we’ve also welcomed new members to our Barking Mad Wigan & St Helens family. Read more
