I am Rojean Serek, and I am absolutely delighted to be your local franchisee and trusted partner in premium dog care.

Before embarking on this wonderful journey with Barking Mad, my career was deeply rooted in the creative arts. Originally born and raised in South Africa, I spent years working as a professional actor and performer, appearing on stage in musical theatre and on screen, whereafter I moved on to working behind the scenes as production manager, writer, artist manager and owner of my own children’s theatre company.  While I have always loved the vibrant energy of the performing arts industries, another ultimate passion is of the 4-legged furry kind, and I have two little Yorkies, Sheba and Loki, who absolutely own my heart. Ensuring their happiness and wellbeing, is the most important role I have ever taken on and providing your pet with a loving, home-from-home environment, will be just as rewarding.

I believe that every animal is a unique individual, with their own distinct personality, quirks, and emotional needs. To deepen my understanding of behaviour and emotional well-being, I am currently completing a degree in psychology part time. This academic journey wonderfully complements my work with dogs, allowing me to appreciate the profound emotional bonds we share with our pets. It also helps me remain highly attuned to your dog’s specific needs—whether they are an energetic pup looking for adventure, or a slightly anxious senior who requires a gentle, reassuring environment.
