Hello, I’m Jacqui Clark and I provide the Barking Mad service in the Edinburgh and Lothians area. I cover all the main towns and surrounding areas, including Edinburgh, South Queensferry, Livingston, Linlithgow, Broxburn, Bathgate, Blackburn, Penicuik, West Linton, Peebles, Innerleithen, Dalkeith, Loanhead, Bonnyrigg, Musselburgh, Preston Pans, Port Seton, Tranent, North Berwick and Dunbar. I live near the small village of Nine Mile Burn, just outside Penicuik with my husband, Black Labrador Charlie, 2 cats and 5 chickens.
I always had dogs as a child and was delighted to be able to have my very own dog when we moved here to the countryside. I gladly took time out of work to train what was a very exuberant (and now marginally less lively adult dog!) I was previously a host for Barking Mad and really enjoyed the variety of dogs who came to stay with us-and loved to see them all settle so quickly into their holiday home. There were always lots of stories to tell the owners about the dogs’ holiday, such as new places visited, new animals discovered for the first time and doggie-friendships made. Having had a few years off after spending many years working in the Charity Sector I’m really pleased to have joined the incredibly enthusiastic and committed team at Barking Mad. I thrive on combining my enjoyment in working with people with my love of dogs, as they have always played a big part in my life.
If you would like to know more about the excellent services we provide in your area, call me on 01968 675522. I’d really love to hear from you!

Carrie looks great after her holiday, very happy to have her home and it was great to relax on our holiday knowing she would be really cared for.
Thanks to you and to host Christina
We signed up with Jacqui at Barking Mad in Oct last year with a view to using the service in Spring / Summer 2014. However a family bereavement in Jan this year prompted us to write to Jacqui with a very last minute request for a family to take Molly & Murphy for one night so that we could attend the funeral. The quick response and service we got from Jacqui was fantastic and meant we could travel and attend the funeral with a bit less stress. By all accounts Molly and Murphy had a lovely time with their host family and this has given us the confidence and reassurance for the future. Jacqui, we can’t thank you enough for your understanding and support !

Barking Mad provides an excellent service from start to finish. It allows you to go on holiday with the reassurance that your dog is in caring hands and is following his settled routine of his own bed, good food, walks, company and loving attention. This is something you cannot expect from kennels, no matter how good they are. My local co-ordinator Jacqui Clark gave a very thorough, thoughtful, caring and professional service and obviously loves dogs – a very important feature in my opinion. I will have no hesitation in using Barking Mad again”
We are absolutely delighted with every aspect of the service we have experienced from Barking Mad, from the initial consultation with Jacqui, our local franchisee, to the care of our beloved dog Barkley.
It was Barkley's first time away from home and we were concerned how he would fare, but he obviously had a marvellous time at the hands of his devoted host and is eagerly awaiting a return visit! We have every confidence that he will enjoy himself just as much next time and can relax knowing he is in expert hands.'
Loki has returned from her holiday extremely satisfied and actually quite tired! She had been on so many walks and adventures, I'm not sure she even missed us! I haven't seen her so happy and waggy tailed. Thank you so much for looking after her so well. She will definitely be back
"The service provide by Barking Mad, and Jacqui in particular, was excellent from start to finish. The care in placing Morag in the right environment was evident and it was obvious that Morag thoroughly enjoyed her time staying with Pat. In truth, probably enjoyed it too much!! Everything that was promised was delivered, including text messages and emails whilst we were away, which helped put our mind at ease. We will definitely use the service again and would have no hesitation in recommending Barking Mad."

Just want you to know how pleased we are with our first experience of Barking Mad. Our elderly dog Willow is so much happier going on her walks and her holiday has given her a 'second wind'. We were worried about leaving her but the whole thing was a great success, thank you so much.
Thank goodness a neighbour recommended Barking Mad. Since then we have used the service for the past 5 years. In our experience Barking Mad provide a high level of service with good communication and information. Staff are professional and enthusiastic with the host carers working hard to ensure dogs have a wonderful holiday. As a result we are able to enjoy our holiday in the knowledge that our dog is well cared for and happy, and in fact "having a ball" of a time. Each time our dog has been with a host carer he has returned home happy, fit and well groomed. Especially nice to receive is the 'holiday photo' sent with a description of what your dog has been doing on holiday. 'Brilliant'. So, well done to all at Barking Mad-without you we would not be able to enjoy our holidays.
Lottie came home after her "holiday" very happy and it was clear she had been well cared-for during the week we were away. Barking Mad was a great solution for Lottie as she is quite nervous around people and dogs she doesn't know. The fact that she was spared the stress of a boarding kennels made our holiday much happier and I would certainly use Barking Mad again and recommend you to others.
What a fantastic service! Used for the first time for Jackson our 3 year old Lhasa Apso, and would definitely use Barking Mad again. Efficient and dedicated service - Jacqui is fantastic and very understanding. Look no place else!
We are so grateful for all of your efforts to coordinate a fantastic doggy vacation for Monty, even at short notice during the spring school holidays. We really had such a lovely time and what made it even better was knowing that our large Labradoodle was being so well looked after. As usual, he was returned to us happy and healthy. This is the fourth time we have used Barking Mad as it gives us the peace of mind we need to be able to really enjoy our getaways. In fact, we are already planning our next holiday!
It gave us such peace of mind to know Milly was not on her own at kennels following the death of her 'mate' of 10 years. She benefitted so much from all the TLC and walks the host gave her.
Just wanted to tell you how happy we were with every part of your service for Wilson-he came home very happy and content!
