Hi, I’m Steph, and I’m a huge dog lover — something my own dog, Luna, has definitely had a big part in!
Luna is a Spanish Greyhound who I rescued in 2020. She was my first dog as an adult and, having spent the beginning of her life on the streets, she had never lived in a home before. Getting to know her, helping her settle into home life and watching her confidence grow taught me so much about dogs and their individual personalities. It also made me realise just how much I love having dogs around.
I’ve always been the person who is happy to look after friends’ and family’s dogs, and I love getting to know all their different characters. So when the opportunity came along to become a Barking Mad franchise owner, it felt like a really exciting way to turn something I genuinely love into a business.
What attracted me to Barking Mad was that it’s not just about finding somewhere for your dog to stay while you’re away. It’s about finding the right home-from-home for them. I know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for your dog, and how much reassurance it gives you to know they’re happy and settled while you’re away.
My role is to get to know you and your dog, understand what makes them tick, and match them with one of our carefully selected host families who can give them the individual care and attention they need. I’ll also be here as your local point of contact throughout the process, so you always have someone you know and trust to speak to.
I’m really excited to be starting this new chapter and getting to know lots of lovely dogs and their owners along the way. I’m looking forward to building a local community of dog lovers where dogs can enjoy their own holiday while their owners can go away knowing they’re in safe and caring hands.
And, of course, Luna is very excited about having lots of new four-legged friends too! 🐾
