1. Pittville Park, Cheltenham 

 If you’re looking for a touch of tranquility just a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of Cheltenham town centrePittville Park is just the ticket. A paw-pular spot for dog walkers, this sizeable park has lots of nooks and crannies for Fido to explore. There’s also play areas, an aviary, lakes and sporting areas. It’s an ideal spot if you’re having a family afternoon out.  

2. Robinswood Hill Country Park, Gloucester 

 With 100 hectares of beauty on offer, Robinswood Hill sits on the south east side of Gloucester and boasts a Green Flag Award. There are many way-marked paths around the Hill, and there are often dog-friendly activities on offer. 

3. Crickley Hill and Barrow Wake, near Cheltenham and Gloucester

With a rich history stretching back over 6,000 years, you will find ancient woodlands and limestone grassland habitats at Crickley Hill and Barrow Wake. This area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its rich grasslands, areas of rare wildlife, and wildflowers. In order to protect the wildlife, there are certain times of the year when your dog is required to be on a lead. Theres also a visitors centre, a picnic area, cafe and toilets, giving it all the ingredients for a grand day out. 

4. Woodchester Park, near Stroud

With plenty of scent trails to follow and endless acres of woods and parkland to explore, Woodchester Park is a favourite dog walking spot. This wonderful National Trust property is great for circular woodland walks. However, your pup may need to be on the lead because there are often grazing sheep en route. Theres also a play trail for the kids – making it a great Gloucestershire spot for everyone. 

 5. Cotswold Way Circular Walk, Gloucester

 This stunning walk through Cranham, Coopers Hill and the Beechwoods is one of the best you can enjoy with your pooch. With four miles of beech woodlands youll get to tour one of Englands most treasured natural environments. As well, you can see the iconic cheese-rolling hill. If you and pup need a pitstop, The Black Horse pub in Cranham is well-known for its good food and drink.
