I live in Bracknell, within walking distance of Swinley Forest, with my 13-year-old German Shepherd, Dido. We’ll soon be joined by a little German Shepherd puppy, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Dogs have been a constant source of joy in my life since childhood in South Africa. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to share my home with eight wonderful dogs, from Border Collies and a St Bernard to a Maltese and my much-loved German Shepherds.
When I chose to start a new adventure and make the UK my home in 2019, I brought my two German Shepherds, Dido and Delboy, with me from South Africa.
In January 2025, I decided to step down from my role leading the commercial division of a major publisher to leap into running my own business. Having always been an extremely nervous dog owner who agonised about leaving my dogs when work trips took me abroad, discovering Barking Mad immediately struck a chord. I instantly wished I’d known about Barking Mad earlier, and I knew it was the perfect way to combine my love of dogs with a new professional chapter.
I’m excited to bring Barking Mad dog boarding to Bracknell and can’t wait to welcome you and your beloved dogs into our world.
