Alison and I were made to feel very welcome at Holme on Spalding Moor WI.
Our evening was filled with enthusiasm as most of the audience were dog lovers, one of our fabulous hosts was in the audience, who spoke of her experience of hosting for Barking Mad and why she loves it so much.
I had the privilege of being invited to talk at the Ebor Wine Tasting group in York.
A really friendly group who meet monthly to share their love of wine and other hobbies that they all enjoy.
Everyone made me feel super welcome and I was treated to a fabulous glass of vintage red wine!
DOG FRIENDLY GETAWAY
After your dog has been on a Barking Mad holiday, it's nice for you to get away together and enjoy walking in the beautifully scenic Yorkshire Wolds.
Tracey is extremely welcoming of dogs.. in fact the more the merrier!
The converted railway carriages are heated either by electric or a wood burning stove, or there are some log cabins......dogs are welcome in all.
April saw Barking Mad York stepping into new territory, we were booked to do a small talk at the local town hall in Selby to the U3A group. Around 50 members turned up to listen to a talk of the health benefits of having canine companionship and how here at Barking Mad we can fulfil that dream without the full time commitment of owning a dog.
My colleague Alison came along with one of our amazing customers Henry, with permission of his owner of course, who mingled and said hello to everyone. Just for fun we held an identify the dog competition with a tie breaker...some people were very competitive, but great fun was had.
It was a very successful morning we raised money for the Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary which is our nominated charity this year. A new host signed up to our join our growing host community.
Bella and Luna my two beautiful dogs play a huge part in my life, but not now they have decided that I'm not allowed to take centre stage anymore and they now have got their own blog! Please feel to follow and I hope you like it! click here
December 7th marked the first Christmas gathering of Barking Mad Yorks hosts.
The Little Indulgence Cafe provided us with a dog friendly room with copious amounts of food. We had a raffle to raise funds for Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary, who rescued a fox from the garden of one our hosts.
Fabulous afternoon with great people.
Thank you to all who took part in Barking Mad York hamper competition that ran throughout November, I was over the moon by the response received.
The winner was announced on the 1st December and was Debbie Craine from York, who entered a picture of Monty and the list of wonderful treats he was to receive for his first Christmas.
Today Debbie received her hamper and I got the pleasure of meeting Monty......
£60.53 raised For Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Gilberdyke having run a competition to name a giant Dalmation to be my travelling companion whilst on the road for Barking Mad. The Wilcox family named him 'Dan'.
