We can’t wait for the 21st June, when everyone at Barking Mad will celebrate the UK’s official Bring Your Dog to Work Day by attempting to set a brandnew doggy world record. Our dog holiday specialists are planning to hold a live webinar, otherwise known as an online meeting or presentation, and inviting as many dogs as possible to attend. There is no charge to join and donations to approved dog charities are welcome including DogsForGood.

Richard Dancy, Communications Managing Director at Barking Mad, said:

“We’d love to invite as many dogs to get involved as possible. The only requirement is that they have a human with a reliable internet connection, webcam and it may be helpful to have an audio headset! The webinar will be hosted from Barking Mad HQ in the Lake District with our office dog, border collie Paddy, at the helm.”

What is Bring Your Dog to Work Day?

The UK’s sixth official Bring Your Dog to Work Day will take place on Friday 21st June, encouraging businesses to welcome employees’ canine companions into the workplace just for one day, to raise money for charity. The event was founded and is organised by ethical dog grooming product company, HOWND, and aims to raise money for All Dogs Matter, Animals Asia and other charities chosen by participants.

www.bringyourdogtoworkday.co.uk says of the benefits of taking part:

Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can substantially reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace. Increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets.

A study published by the International Journal of Workplace Health Management (2010) adds weight to this argument, by concluding that the presence of dogs in the work place even had a positive effect on those employees who didn’t have a dog of their own.

As you might expect, Barking Mad is a huge advocate and official sponsor of the special day. Richard continues:

“Our national network of self-employed dog sitting business professionals are so lucky because they get to work with dogs and dog lovers every day. Because our franchise owners have flexible, home-based careers they can also spend plenty of time each day with their own dogs but not everyone is so fortunate.

Bring Your Dog to Work Day is a fantastic way to raise funds for animal charities and promote the positive effects of spending time with dogs. We will be using our Woofing Webinar to promote awareness of and raise money for our inspirational charity partner, Dogs for Good.”
