We attended the Eglwysbach agricultural show in August a very busy and well organised event and met some customers and friends while we were there. As well as telling new customers all about our fantastic dog sitting service we caught up with some other local businesses and vets and even got a glimpse of Kate Humble ex presenter of Springwatch. Thankfully our mascot didn’t see her, or she wouldn’t have known what had hit her, although a picture would have been nice!
Last month we attended the very wet dog show at Bodriwnswn Vets in Bangor it was a lovely event with lots of doggy attendees and some great competitors. Our beautiful Murphy won yet again the First prize in the oldies section and our Mascot won a ‘special’ prize (very apt) after managing to find himself an owner so he could enter the competition (thank you whoever you are). Those are the rules apparently. Unfortunately he did get a telling off for trying to bite the judge. At least he managed to climb onto the inspection table, at his age that is no mean feat!
Last week we tried to join in the St David’s Hospice woofs and wellies walk which sadly was cancelled due to the stormy weather. Let’s hope it is re arranged for a nicer day soon and we’ll hopefully see you there.
Well we are now in our 5th month and they really have flown by. Our amazing host community of local dog sitters is steadily growing and so are our doggy customers with three of them already on their second or third dog holiday!
May saw our first show hastily put together for the Menai Bridge Carnival.
In June we attended the Deganwy Prom Day and met lots of lovely dogs and their owners coming to compete in the dog show. It was a great day. Our very own Murphy the Labradoodle won 1st prize in the ‘Oldies’ section - look at him sporting his rosette. He looks a little baffled as he genuinely believes he is still a puppy! We even got a mention in the Pioneer.
Barking Mad also attended the very busy Llangefni carnival at the beginning of this month and have been continuing our ‘Name the Mascot’ competition through till the end of show season. The lucky winner will get £20 in vouchers of their choice.
Murphy is having a very good year as his good looks was also picked up by Jess in Venture Photography Liverpool. She was so taken with him she took a photo to enter into a national photographic competition and won!
If you’re thinking of going away and need to find a loving, safe, home from home care for your canine family call sooner rather than later to ensure your holiday dates can be booked early.
If you have some time off over the summer and would love a little doggy company and a walking buddy give us a call and find out more about becoming a Barking Mad host for guaranteed fun, exercise and companionship with a friendly, happy dog.
We love working with and recommending local business, here are a list of fantastic people we think you might like to hear about:
