Elaine and husband Stewart celebrated hosting for Barking Mad for 10 years and they love it!
As dog lovers, they have owned various dogs for over 20 years but were not sure they could commit to getting another dog after their best friend passed away. At the time they really missed the companionship and exercise so Elaine and Stewart decided that Barking Mad was the perfect solution for them and have been hosting ever since! They enjoy cricket, reading, cinema and travelling and love spending time in their garden particularly since Stewart retired. They love hosting any small-sized dogs and have regulars. Some customers even check if Elaine is available before looking for holidays! Elaine treats all guests like they were her own even buying Christmas and birthday presents for her regulars.

She has owned different breeds of dogs over the years, including spaniels and terriers and thoroughly enjoys all the different characters that come to stay with her in her role as a Barking Mad host.
She thoroughly enjoys all of the benefits that looking after a dog brings, but particularly she loves the company and the excuse to get outside for a good stroll whatever the weather.

The family house has a large, secure garden with lots of space for dogs to play and run. They also live a stone’s throw from the canal so plenty of good dog walks are enjoyed.
The family started hosting in 2013 and have busy dog care hosting ever since. They enjoy the company of varied breeds of dogs and have hosted King Charles Spaniels, a Mastiff and a Boxer to name just a few.
Pictured here with holidaymaker Salty, Karen lives with her husband John. She has been a dog home boarding host since 2007 and feels it's perfect for her situation. Karen has always loved animals and has had a variety over the years but, as she and John are away quite a bit themselves, they can't commit to having their own dog. However, they love having canine guests short term despite considering fostering for an animal charity. Karen and family know that their visitors always go home to their loving owners.
