March Spotlight – Meet our Dog Sitter Host

Trustpilot

TV fame for our wonderful Wendy!

In this month’s Host Spotlight edition, we would like you to meet dog sitter host Wendy Fearn. Wendy was nominated to appear on our blog by Donna Cotton, owner-operator of our Barking Mad Nottingham branch. She recently appeared on local television, along with Donna, to talk about how and why she became a host for Barking Mad Dog Care. Donna enthuses,

“Wendy is such a kind, caring person and is very experienced with dogs, having always previously had her own. She is a retired lady and lives alone in a lovely bungalow with a medium size secure garden, which is very suitable for any kind of dog. After sadly losing her Tibetan terrier, Star, last year she was missing dog walks and companionship terribly. Becoming a host for Barking Mad was the perfect solution!

Wendy likes to keep active and loves to walk, really appreciating the company of a dog to join her. She used to be a hairdresser and still visits friends to do their hair. Her friends all love dogs as well, so visiting dogs are welcome to accompany her. She is also very talented and produces wonderful paintings and handicrafts, including making dog coats. Everything Wendy makes is beautiful and she loves to keep busy.

A brilliant Barking Mad spokesperson

She really is an amazing host, always willing to help and care for all kinds of dog. Over the Christmas period she provided a lovely holiday home for two little dogs with virtually no notice, due to an emergency situation. Whilst Wendy was hosting Frankie, a 6 month old cockapoo puppy, I received the exciting news that a local current affairs television programme, Ey Up Notts, wanted to feature the Barking Mad service. I asked Wendy if she would be prepared to be interviewed for the programme and she didn’t hesitate.

She was absolutely fantastic on camera – I couldn’t have asked for a better brand ambassador! Wendy gave a brilliant explanation of how being a host works and how much she loves having dogs to stay. She takes every opportunity to tell people she meets all about Barking Mad and also came along to a recent photo shoot for website pictures.

I really appreciate Wendy’s commitment and contribution as a host. She is a truly valued member of the Barking Mad Nottingham team and I can’t wait to match her with lots of lovely doggy holiday makers over the coming year.”

Wendy said:

“I didn’t know about Barking Mad until my last little dog died and then my daughter thought it might be a good idea – it’s lovely!”
