June Spotlight – see how dog sitting makes a difference to Jenny’s life

Every month we feature one of our amazing host families and talk about the positive impact which dog sitting makes upon their lives. Jenny Homer from West Sussex has been a dog sitting host for nearly three years for Barking Mad Chichester. Her local branch owner, Jane Harrison, couldn’t wait to put her forward for a special mention. She said:

“Jenny absolutely adores every guest that she has had to stay. She is always so positive and happy and never lets us down. The dogs that  stay with Jenny are completely doted on and spoilt with care and attention. She really does go above and beyond the call of duty.”

Jenny was featured in The Chichester Observer, for an interview all about how dog sitting has made a difference to her life. Talking to the newspaper, Jenny said:

“It does make such a difference because they are such good company and obviously when you take them out you get to know people. It definitely helps you not being lonely. All my life I have been a dog person and I have had all sorts of dogs. I think it’s important – you want the dogs to be happy when you are away.”

What does Barking Mad mean to Jenny?

We are delighted to receive Jenny’s praise and so happy to hear about the positive difference which being a Barking Mad host has had on her life. Branch owner, Jane, said:

“Everyone who has seen the article has said how lovely it was. It’s great to see how much happiness dogs can bring! Jenny joined Barking Mad after sadly losing her dog of twelve years and also her partner. Barking Mad has enabled Jenny to enjoy the company of a dog without the full time commitment and has helped to prevent loneliness. She loves having her doggy guests to stay because it encourages her to take exercise and to socialise with new people.”
