Cranage dog walkers

It is the second anniversary of our dog walking group.  It was created to prevent individuals going out for walks in the dark on their own.  Cranage, even though close to Holmes Chapel is a fairly rural area and in places is poorly lit.  We have a WhatsApp group and post on it daily to see who is coming out for a walk and arrange a time.  Its been a huge success, its rare that anyone isn’t going out,  the dogs love being together and us humans have become good friends.  I would recommend setting up such a group to anyone.

Wedding

Lottie – ring bearer

Lottie was the perfect dog to have as a ring bearer at her owners wedding.  I had the pleasure of escorting Lottie to the wedding which was in the beautiful venue Colshall Hall in Over Peover near Knutsford.  She performed her duty as ring bearer with ease, she was fussed by everyone at the reception and posed for photos with the Bride and Groom like a professional.  Once her duties were over, Lottie was escorted back to her host family where she could relax and have a very long nap!

Holmes Chapel Village Fair

This was a great day out, it seems like most of Holmes Chapel had turned up to attend the annual fair.  I met and chatted to a lot of dog loving people about how to look after friendly dogs for short stays and also how the dog home boarding service works.  I even bribed my two dogs with some doggy treats to help me!

Barking Mad Team Cheshire at Tatton Park Country Fair

Our inaugural Team Cheshire event was held at Tatton Park Country Fair in Knutsford on the 18th and 19th May. It was a fun filled family weekend with lots of doggy activities and shows.  Our stand provided refreshments and snacks for the many doggy visitors.  We met lots of lovely people and their dogs and chatted about our bespoke home from home dog boarding service.

Knutsford Lions Fair – Pics from the day

Wow! What awful weather we had on the 27th May for the annual Knutsford Lions Fair on the Heath.  Everyone was telling me how hot it was the previous year!  Despite the cold, wet extremely windy weather a good day was had by all.  I got to meet a lot of people local to Knutsford including the Town Mayor Cllr.  My exhibition stand was promoting our dog host community where you can look after holiday dogs in your family home and raising money for our chosen charity Dogs for Good.  Hopefully next year will be better weather!

Barking Mad at Dog Fest

On 8th and 9th June Dog Fest was at Tatton Park Knutsford.  Barking Mad representatives from all over the North West and further were excited to be part of such a huge event, it was a great weekend for dog owners and dog lovers.  We saw all breeds of dog and talked to hundreds of people about pet sitting, home boarding, doggy holidays and for those missing dogs in their life, how to become a host.  Our marquee was located at the start of the Great Walk so we had the pleasure of seeing Noel Fitzpatrick and Clare Balding each day.  We are looking forward to being part of it again next year!

November – New beginnings

Hi, I’m Amanda, new business owner of Barking Mad Knutsford Home from Home dog boarding service.  I’ve had an exciting month driving around my territory getting to know each place.  I love living in Cheshire, it has some amazing dog friendly places to visit and what makes it more pleasurable is taking my 2 dogs Hugo and Harvey with me.  They do feature quite a lot on my facebook page!  We have had a great time so far, Shakeley Mere is our local walk, the fields around Goostrey but Tatton park in Knutsford has to be a favourite and we have eyed up a couple of parks in Altrincham to visit next week.

This has to be one of the reasons I wanted to start this endeavour,  to spend more time with dogs and dog loving people.  I am married to Chris who is equally potty about dogs, we are always surrounded by dogs at home apart from an awful month when we lost our wire fox terrier Dylan.  We found ourselves up at Dunham Massey simply to be near and stroke the many dogs that were there, it was shortly after that we got Hugo.  My previous job denied me so much time from them that I was miserable, it was time to do something I love.
