Calling All Dog Lovers! – June 2018

Could you be a host?

Barking Mad Dog Care is always keen to meet people who would like to host our super guest dogs. Many people have heard of dog fostering but don’t realise that they can join our dog sitting host community and offer short breaks and holidays without the long term commitment of fostering or ownership. We’re spreading the word with our local coffee mornings in dog-friendly cafes.

Sunny days!

Here at Barking Mad Dog Care Reading, we love the sun! Having a BBQ, spending time in the garden, and of course heading down to the nearest river, lake or beach for the day. Introducing my own dog, Dusty.

I’d like to introduce our own dog, Dusty.  She was six last November and we have had her since she was 8 weeks old, travelling from Ascot to Salford in Manchester to collect her in January 2012.  She has been a revelation and changed our lives in ways we wouldn’t have thought possible.  Dusty is a Bishon Frise / Shih Tzu cross; they are known as Shichons (or sometimes Zuchons). Here are a few photos of her and a great video of her playing with one of her ‘best mates’ Coco, a Manchester Terrier.  She is amazing with children, and generally OK with other dogs, but it’s not always possible to tell how she will react to other bigger, darker dogs.  She sometimes takes an aggressive stance, but often her bark is misinterpreted as all she wants to do most of the time is play.

Searching for Dog Lovers among Norfolk’s Teachers

The Barking Mad Norfolk Team

It has been another busy month for Barking Mad South Norwich. We have been working very closely with our neighbours at Barking Mad Norfolk and organise a visit to the PGCE students of the University of East Anglia. It was wonderful to talk to so many potential hosts for our dog-boarding service and tell them about how they could spend their school holidays with a four-legged companion. We also teamed up to organise our first quiz for our hosts. All the proceeds went to Dogs For Good and we raised over £180, which was a fantastic result. We hope to make this a regular event for our hosts and the next quiz will hopefully be in Hethersett or Poringland to enable as many of my dog-sitting hosts to come as possible.

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping-by and hope you’re all enjoying this wonderful weather. We here at Barking Mad Banbury HQ can’t get enough of it and keep having to resist the lure of icy mojito’s on the patio. Let’s hope the warm sunshine keeps on, especially as we have a busy schedule of events over the coming months.

First-up for Barking Mad Banbury is Bloxham Fun Day. Taking place on Saturday the 9th of June at Jubilee Park, Bloxham, we’ll be there to answer questions about our Banbury dog-sitting service as well as raising money for the Dogs for Good charity.
