We’re proud to be supporting Dogs for Good
At Barking Mad Dog Care, we are awed by the positive difference that dogs make to people’s lives, motivating us to select a relevant, annual charity to focus on in 2018! We have a history of raising funds for charities both nationally, such as Medical Detection Dogs, and locally for charities in the communities of our branches. For 2018 however, we wanted to support a charity with which we could coordinate both our national and local fundraising efforts. We are excited to announce that we will be helping Dogs for Good in their vision of creating “a world in which everyone and every community is able to benefit from the help of a trained dog.”
Cathryn Simpson, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Dogs for Good said,
‘We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Barking Mad in 2018, there’s obvious synergy between the two organisations in respect of the dogs but more importantly the ethos of both organisations is closely matched and this is important to ensure a successful partnership. Thank you to everyone for getting involved!”
Dogs for Good train assistance dogs to support adults and children with a wide range of disabilities and also children with autism, in order to enrich and improve lives. This is particularly relevant to the work which we undertake with our own dog sitting Host Community. We offer the opportunity to care for someone else’s dog whilst its owners are away and through this initiative, we witness the amazing difference that canine companions can make in terms of improving social interaction and fitness every day.
Barking Mad founder and MD, Lee Dancy, enthuses:
“We are delighted to announce that Dogs for Good is Barking Mad’s chosen charity for 2018! We feel that the work of this amazing organization is truly inspirational. They are a perfect fit for us to partner with as we share the belief that dogs can make such a positive difference to lives.”
How can you get involved?
Our ultimate wish would be to raise enough money to fund the training of a Dogs for Good puppy for each region we cover and we would really appreciate your help! Find your local branch to discover the fundraising events which are happening in your local area in 2018 and with details of our fundraising page coming soon. Throughout the UK we will be holding numerous events from ‘pupcake’ sales to afternoon teas and from coffee mornings to dog walks, so look out for details coming soon!
In the new year we will also be introducing an initiative to enable customers to make a voluntary donation of a pound, with every booking with our dog home boarding service, to help us achieve our goal.
