Hello my name is Steven Wilkinson and I am officially Barking Mad! It brings me great satisfaction to be able to offer this fantastic home from home dog boarding service to like minded dog owners in our local areas. Now that I am part of the unique concept that is the Barking Mad service, I am able to combine work with my love for dogs while providing the superb alternative to kennels. I truly believe Barking Mad is a fantastic service for all concerned.
We offer a home from home dog boarding service where your beloved dogs will be cared for in a dog loving family home that suits your dogs’ personality and needs. Your dog will become the centre of attention for the duration of their stay while benefitting from being able to keep to the same routine they know and love with the added benefit of new walks and smells. It’s like grandparents for dogs, and not a kennel in sight!
This is a service I felt very strongly about as soon as I heard about Barking Mad. We have a Rescue Boxer dog called Tyler, we adopted him at around 3 years old and he suffered from a very bad case of kennel cough and separation anxiety from being left in the kennels. This meant boarding kennels have never been an option for us, Barking Mad was our perfect solution! We can now go away with that extra piece of mind knowing Tyler is happy having a holiday of his own receiving lots of love, affection and exercise while not feeling like he has been abandoned. We also love the postcards J
When you book a Barking Mad holiday, you can be confident your dogs are going to have as good a time as you. You will receive text updates as well as your dogs returning home with a photo and postcard from their own holiday.

A service second to none. We had only had our re-homed 1 year old dog Woody for two weeks and were really worried about going away for the few days holiday we had booked. I contacted Steve and he put us completely at ease at our initial meeting. Woody enjoyed his "holiday" and even made new friends - that he told us about in his postcard! It was lovely to get pictures of him enjoying himself with Jill who looked after him. Also the re-assuring text messages whilst we were away helped us relax on our trip knowing he had settled. We will definately use the the service again. Home from home for dogs!
What a relief to find such an amazing service .... from the second we contacted Steve we have found the whole process well managed in such a friendly way. Polly loves her holidays and is so relaxed when she gets back it makes our time away all the more relaxing.cannot recommend these guys enough - thank you.
Recently left our 10 month old, crazy Irish setter for his first stay away from home. Steven collected and returned him on time. We received text messages informing us of how he was getting on and a really nice postcard (from him)on his return.It really gave us peace of mind that he was being properly cared for, exercised and entertained. Steven is a really nice fella and we will definitely use the service again.
