Caroline Crutchley and Monty, the Barking Mad mascot, attend World Travel Market 2016 in London

Meet Caroline Crutchley AKA the ‘Gadabout Girl’, a freelance writer specialising in destination travel, luxury lifestyle, design and gastronomy. Caroline was the very first fantastic host to respond to an advert to join the York branch of Barking Mad and has been a proud ambassador of our brand ever since!

In January, Caroline will leave her home town of Selby to travel the world on a six month tour! Helena Bramma, of Barking Mad York, couldn’t wait to tell us about Caroline’s plan to include our dog holiday company in her big adventure:

“Caroline really is a truly remarkable lady! It was her idea to get a little dog which could wear a Barking Mad dog tag and accompany her on her travels. She even ran a competition to name the dog on her Facebook page!”

Caroline really understands the value and importance of local community. She is very active in The University of the Third Age, an organisation which allows retired and semi-retired people to come together and learn and is also involved in Pathways to Health in Selby an initiative to get over 50s out and walking in the local area. She even appeared in the local paper with a Barking Mad doggy guest!

Caroline’s love of community, health and well-being was crucial in her decision to become a host for Barking Mad. As well as enjoying the company of lovely dogs, she really appreciates the social and physical benefits that hosting brings. Through Barking Mad, Caroline has struck up a friendship with Joyce, a fellow host, also introducing her to The University of the Third Age.
