When you apply, we will visit you for an initial interview and a home inspection. We’ll discuss the type of dogs you’d like to look after, as well as your availability.
Then, if your application is successful, as soon as we have a dog that we feel would be well suited to you, we will contact you well in advance.
We will notify you of the arrival and departure times, the type of dog and their care requirements. All food, treats, toys and routine schedules will be supplied. We also provide you with a comprehensive host handbook containing useful information about pet behaviour, pet care, first aid and health and safety.

And of course we keep in touch throughout the dog’s stay. If you need advice or assistance at any time, your local Barking Mad representative is there to help.
Successful applicants will be asked to sign a Host Family Agreement which includes Public and Employers Liability Insurance.

We are of an age when it's impractical to have our own dog, we fully recommend being hosts as it is a very enjoyable experience. ![]()
